FAQs

Why should I rent a bounce house?

Bounce houses are a great source of entertainment for any event involving children.  There are many benefits of renting an inflatable for a party.  Inflatables provides children with a safe and exciting outdoor activity that keeps them exercised and entertained. Having an inflatable set up for the duration of a party insures that children will have an activity they can return to multiple times, keeping them busy for hours. However there are some considerations to keep in mind when renting an inflatable.

What to look for when renting an inflatable?

Not all inflatable companies are created equal.  There are a few things you should consider when renting a bounce house.

For safety of the children using the unit, ask these questions:

  • Are the units inspected by the state of Texas for safety?

    • Our equipment is inspected every year by a certified amusement ride inspector.
  • Do you carry liability insurance?

Yes, we do carry liability insurance.  Our top priority is safety and peace of mind for our customers. Most cities, schools, churches, etc. require proof of insurance if the event is held on their property.  Our recommendation is to choose a company that makes safety a priority.

Can you set up in a city park or other public place?

Yes, we can set up in a city park or other public place.  There are several things you need to be aware of when making this decision.  First, check with the city parks department to see if they charge park fees, or require a permit to set up a bounce house or other inflatable. Second, the city may also limit the size, location, and number of hours you can use the inflatable. Next, you will want to make sure there is a power source.  A standard outlet is typically sufficient to run a single blower.  If the park does not have a power source, we can provide a generator for an extra cost.  Finally, some cities, HOA’s, etc. not only require proof of insurance, but require to be listed as an additional insured on the policy. We have found that most only require the proof. Please make any reservations for a park or public place at least 2 weeks in advance to give us time to communicate with the park, city, etc to provide needed paperwork.

What are the rules when using a bounce house?

We go over the rules and leave a copy when we set up.  No food or drink, nothing sticky, no shoes, no sharp objects, no rough housing/wrestling, no hanging on the nets, no flipping, and most important no silly string. We reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee if the unit requires excessive cleaning due to non-adherence to these policies. If the unit is stolen or returned in a state of disrepair, we reserve the right to charge for repair or replacement of the unit.

What do we do if the inflatable is up and it starts to rain?

There are two reasons the inflatable can not be used during the rain. First, we are using electricity, and everyone knows that water and electricity don’t mix.  Ensure that all individuals are out safely and then either turn off or unplug the blower.  The second reason is the vinyl becomes extremely slippery when wet, and we do not want any injuries to occur.  Once the rain has stopped you may use the bounce house again.  Simple turn on or plug the blower back in.  Before allowing anyone to resume use, allow the unit to completely inflate and then dry off the surface with towels.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my party?

Firehouse Bounce will make every effort to ensure that every delivery is made as agreed, however, Texas weather can be unpredictable and the safety of the attendees is the primary concern of Firehouse Bounce. Therefore, Firehouse Bounce will closely monitor the weather forecast for the agreed rental date. If the forecast calls for inclement weather, including but not limited to rain, lightening, hail, wind speeds exceeding the unit manufacturer’s guidelines of 20 mph or if it has recently rained and the unit cannot be safely set up due to standing water or other inherent dangers, or if in the judgement of Firehouse Bounce the risk of proceeding with the event would prove to be unsafe, Firehouse Bounce reserves the right to cancel the event. We will however make every effort to communicate the decision with the lessee as soon as it is practical. We will issue a full refund for an event cancelled due to weather. If both the Lessee and Firehouse Bounce agree to proceed with the event due to a break in the weather or possibility that the weather will hold off, no refund will be issued if the unit must be picked up early due to a change in weather that makes the unit unsafe.

Can I pick up my bounce house and set it up myself?

No, our prices include delivery, complete set-up, pick-up, and tax. Our bounce houses weigh in excess of 200 lbs, and we do not want anyone getting injured.  Installation is provided by our trained professional staff. They will set up the rental in the most professional and safe manner possible.
